As far as most of the world knew, the Subaru Justy was available only with a three-cylinder engine and a hatchback body. In Taiwan, though, the Ta Ching Motor Company developed a notchback sedan version of the Justy and sold it as the Tutto. Here's a Taiwanese-market television commercial for the 1992 Tutto.
The Justy and its Tutto sibling were available with a then-radical continuously variable transmission, which lacked the bogus "shift points" of current CVTs but proved unreliable for long-haul American driving at high speeds. Here we see a Tutto vanquishing some unnamed hatchback rival with a manual transmission, thanks to its smooth power delivery.
