The 2022 Buick Enclave Leans on Style for Appeal

Buick’s Enclave gets a stylish refresh in an effort to boost sales in an increasingly tough segment.

  • Buick updates its Enclave crossover for the 2022 model year, with revised styling and added tech.
  • Buick includes its Driver Confidence Plus package as standard equipment, which adds safety tech like automatic emergency braking and lane-keep assist onto the standard feature list.
  • The 2022 Buick Enclave carries over the powertrain from the current model, which means the 3.6-liter V6 is still under hood.

With competition hotter than ever in the crossover world, Buick is hoping a few light updates will stoke the flames of interest on dealer lots. The 2022 Buick Enclave sees a refreshed exterior and an updated interior. Buick is also expanding its suite of standard safety tech to further push the Enclave into the crossover conversation.

As for the exterior, the 2022 Enclave gets a new front fascia, headlights, and grille, which together do give the new Enclave a more premium look—and which also help distinguish it from the current-production Enclave.

Behind the new face sits the carryover powertrain, the same 3.6-liter V6 from the current Enclave pushing an unchanged 310 hp through a nine-speed automatic transmission to the front wheels. All-wheel drive remains optional.

The interior remains largely untouched, too, save for the adoption of a push-button gear selector in place of the current vehicle’s large, center console space-eating shift lever. The new gear selector looks sleek and helps give the interior of the Enclave a different feel. A rear-view mirror camera is optional, and the new Enclave will also feature wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Buick is also making its Driver Confidence Plus package standard equipment on every Enclave. The package includes automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, intelligent high beams, and other handy safety features. For higher-end creature comforts like adaptive cruise control, you will have to spend some more money.

There’s no word yet on the sticker, but we doubt the base price will change dramatically from its current $41,495 starting point.
