Fronted by a fresh face and reinforced with an upgraded interior, the revised 2014 Ford Fiesta was revealed Wednesday, ahead of a formal debut in the Netherlands later this week. It will also be displayed at the Paris motor show at the end of September.

The Fiesta begins a global rollout late this year before arriving in the United States in early 2013. The small car will continue to be sold stateside in sedan and hatchback forms. The three-door model is aimed at the European market.

The Fiesta will also likely offer American buyers an initial taste of the 1.0-liter EcoBoost three-cylinder, though the rest of the engine lineup has not been specified for U.S. consumers.

An ST variant is still being considered for the American market. Europeans will receive the turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine making about 180 hp.

The Fiesta is refreshed across the line with trapezoidal headlights, a horizontal grille and a domed hood.
