  • The all-electric Genesis Electrified G80 makes its debut at the Shanghai Auto Show.
  • Genesis has yet to release all of its details, but the Electrified G80 will be exclusively available with all-wheel drive.
  • Genesis also estimates the Electrified G80 will offer over 300 miles of range and feature 364 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque.

Electric cars—especially electric concept carscan skew toward the more dramatic side of the styling spectrum. Either the interior will be styled like the cabin of the future, or the exterior will look like it was penned after watching Blade Runner. That trend does seem to be changing, and the Genesis G80’s latest variant is evidence. This Genesis G80 looks, well, like a Genesis G80.

Debuting at the Shanghai Auto Show, the Genesis Electrified G80, as it’s called, is the brand’s first production-ready EV. This all-electric G80 follows on the heels of the incredibly stylish Genesis X concept that debuted last month.

Genesis has yet to reveal many hard facts about this all-electric G80. The company does mention that it will only be available in all-wheel drive and will feature motors at the front and rear axles. That said, Genesis also says depending on the driving conditions, the car will automatically switch between rear- and all-wheel drive to save energy.

Genesis also claims that the Electrified G80 will make 364 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque from the entire system, good for sprints to 60 mph just in 4.9 seconds. Genesis also says it’s estimating that the battery will deliver over 300 miles per charge by NEDC standards.

There’s no word on when the all-electric G80 will make its way to dealers or how much it’s going to cost you, but as Genesis continues to build its brand and expand its lineup, it would be safe to assume that the company is looking at the growing EV market in the U.S. and will inevitability bring this electrically powered G80 stateside. And, with the Genesis G80 starting just shy of $50,000, you might be able to have electric comfort and luxury for a low price of admission.
